Correct Manual for Early Bravo 1

Have an early bravo 1, serial 0F263764 and transom assembely serial 0F300011.

Can someone confrim the correct manual(s) for these?

Mercruiser said it's #39, someone on here said #28, but from the looks of it it's #11, I'm confused and would like to get to work on this.

Thanks

If I remember correctly 11 was the first Bravo manual if your looking to get a manual get 28 it’s updated there are also two supplements to 28 for the newer bravo’s

Thank you cluster gear.

Awesome, I have #28, what year is the cut off for the 2 supplements for the "newer" outdrives?

Thanks

I'm showing 28 starts at 2001

Rebuilt my older first gen B3 drive some years back and used both manuals. When looking up parts look at both original and newer drive, some parts like seals will work on older drive

Ran the serial number thru merc's website, comes up as manual #11, p/n 17431-4

Now you know why I'm confused :readinghelp:

So is it #28 and that covers previous/older drives & TA's OR is it #11?

Thanks

OK if I remember correctly 11 came out in 1989 and 28 came out in 2003. 28 will be more up to date and is the one I use the most. It will cover old the older models. Not sure if 28 has anything about hard shiming prop shaft preload as newer bravos went to a load ring. The real old lower bravos use shims instead of load ring, old can be update and use load ring. One thing nice about hard Shiming lower is you could actually pull prop shaft on boat inspect gears and put it back in. The supplements to 28 basically cover newer drives like OW and above where upper pinion depth and driven gear backlash have to be done and some other things, you won’t need that. So if you find 11 for free take it, if you have to buy I’d go for 28. If you have any questions there are plenty of people here with both manuals that could answer them

have it all - all the correct manuals and all the SB's plus the updates info along with additional info about the apps. Yes it does cost money for the material and my time plus printing the additional OEM material that is priceless. $185 for all shipped to your door including the correct service manuals that are still brand new. Trying to help.
