X dimension #6 drive for notched v bottom hull

Have a conventional v bottom hull with notch.
The notch is 8" deep and the height is 8 1/4".
The hull was rigged with outboards and i bought the naked hull.
I want to mount a #6 Drive now but don't have any ideas how much the propshaft should be above or below bottom line.
Any ideas?
Chris

What size boat? Power? Weight? Race boat or pleasure? Straight line top speed most important or cruise?

It is a 27ft hull.
The engine produces about 1100-1200 HP.
The bare hull weights about 3400 lbs.
More race than pleasure (no stereo, no backseats, no cabin interieur ...) with eyes on top speed.

Being a single in a non-stepped hull, you are probably going to end up with the propshaft one to two inches below the hull (not the notch).
I would guess the prop will end up being a 17" (or slightly smaller diameter) four blade.
All of the above will help with bow lift.
