Bravo XR Upper Pinion Gear Shims
When I removed the pinion gear from the bearing assembly there was two brass looking shims (.003 and .010) that do not show up on any exploded view to be able to purchase. So I called Mercury and they didn't know what it was. The shims in the photo are a little mangled because I broke them. Help! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...3fcf23cea1.jpg

I recall seeing somethinglike those on an old IMCO SC....might check with them...you can accomplish the same thing by using the later style ( an OW above) pinion bearing that uses shims to set the pinion height in the housing, there is a special tool used to do this, the spec is .025 |
OW? Not sure what that means
