bravo celery stick

Can anyone explain why the B1 and B2 suggest placing the celery stick in the front and the B3 placing it in the back?

I have a 1990 SeaRay 270 w/a single 454. I used to have a B1 on it but that version did not use the celery stick. I have now upgraded to a B3x and now have to deal with the celery stick. I have heard some discussion about the cylinders having too much stroke for the 3x. Wouldn't placing the celery stick in the back make the cylinder stroke situation worse?
Do I need to limit the cylinder stroke on these units?

It is all about how much negative trim it allows the drive to have. With the stick in the back on the BIII, you limit how far you can tuck the drive in all the way down.

ranch dressing or peanut butter ? which does one like prefer ?

Sorry man but we all call them the celery stick, its always funny when boaters never heard of it and u mention it to them and they are like WTF is that ?

They are used on all Bravo apps for many years now.

I remember seeing a bulletin from merc about certain boats heeling over to one side when operated at full trim in, the celery stick behind the pin limits trim in so this doesn’t occur

Actually they really are called --- TAI or TILI

TRIM ADJUSTMENT INSERT and or TRIM IN LIMIT INSERT

and they are installed for handling purposes that can take place if the outdrive is too far tucked under. The TAI limits the drive in negative degrees as how far it can be tucked in

Bravo 3 position is opposite of the bravo one. Ill find a pic on google to show eactly what Im talking about and so forth.
