SSM 3 Install

Having a hell of a time trying to install a couple of SSM 3s on my 38 flatdeck. I have done a lot of bravos with no issues but these are giving me fits.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the problem?

I think i have them lined up but no luck... not even getting to the threads on the bolts.

Does it seem like the input shaft is flopping around and not going into the transmission. If that’s what it feels like I use to put a long thin screw driver in helmet into ujoint at back of input shaft. Use screw driver to move input shaft around to line with back of tranny while pushing drive in.

Not sure how that works with the very small space SSM gives you, if you do not have the spring in the back of trans its pretty much impossible, if you have spring and cannot get it in then something else is wrong, mine slide right it..

No spring and use the screwdriver method, sometimes it takes a bit of time.....

Why take time and hassle when a 20.00 spring makes it easy as designed to so lol

Where is the spring available for a decent price?
