I considered going ASDs in my Cig after eating multiple XRs each season for 4 yrs. Its roughly an additional $15k ish if I remember correctly over SCXs.
Went w SCXs mostly due to very few Cigs w ASDs and have been trouble free since. I sent back to Imco after 4 seasons and Fred called me personally and told me a few options but it was mostly just bearings and misc- very minimal. Suggested I just swap sides every winter and I would get more time even.
BUT I will have to say- I have met another person pushing 1000 HP and he had all kinds of issues. I am only 750ish.
and I am NOT easy on them

I have the scx and -2 sc lowers on my tiger, 850 now and 92 mph, once i tune them and put on the party pulley i should be at 1000 each.. love the imco... I would never use an arneson drive after the the way he handled that other build.

Quinlan,
what lowers are you running? I have a TG with 750’s running SCX’s with SC lowers. Had to replace lower gear set after half a season. I was told prop free spinning was the issue. Basically, getting a little air and reentry into water. I’m very aware of it, so was surprised with they failed. I run in the Gulf of Mexico, so there’s always odd rollers that sneak up on ya.
