Alignment Tool Recommendation
I have a 2005 Formula w/Bravo III's that I'm looking to purchase a drive alignment tool for. The tool from Merc was a little pricey and was looking at
or similar. Any thoughts for a DIY'er?

Actually Sierra has a good alignment tool or use to. I have one from Sierra, I bought many many years ago. It is very heavy and a very high quality piece. I have a lot others as well Including the Merc OEM and the aftermarkets. Some aftermarket are cheap quality.
With that said I can not verify if Sierra Alignment tool is the same quality as per when I bought mine 20 year ago, Possible still worth the buy. I am not a fan of most Sierra products but YES for the Alignment tool I bought 20 years ago. If it is the same I would buy that in a heartbeat. Also I have the installer mandrel that adapts to the alignment tool. U do not have to drill the hole alignment tool either. U slide it on the tool and makes for a super easy install of the GB. Also the GB is aligned as well using the tool. If in fact your alignment is good from the start. I check on all that if one needs this set up. The tool and install mandrel. |
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll reach out to whoya and check out the one from Sierra.

FWIW - a machine shop would charge WAY more than the $23 from ebay just in the hourly shop rate to put the bar in the lathe much less cut it down to profile
