It's not just about the drives, make it all bigger! |

How much speed did they cost you?
Now I have been trimming them up higher and have gotten a lot closer to where I was before- so now I would guess say 2-3. I still think it has more in it too :drink: |
XR's cost me abut 95MPH as I idled in on one more times than I want to remember.

Fred at IMCO told me when I did my SCX upper SC lower combo the SC lower was good for 1000HP.
I run Smith Power 800 HP motors with no problems. Like anything how you treat it will be the final tell.all. |
I am running an X drive upper with an IMCO Sc -3 lower behind a 598 CI at 800 HP - 26 Daytona - prop is fully surfaced, water goes under bullet at speeds over 100 MPH, no issues yet

Pretty light boat also ^^^^^
|
#4500 empty. that is not a light boat for a single, Twin engine splits the load.
My 34 SCARAB was #10,000 dry with Bravo uppers and Imco -2 SC lowers, 509 CI at 650 HP |
I run sc lowers on my tiger at 850, no issues as of yet... i will do dual shafts down the road as I'm taking it to 1000 per side.

I have an SCX 1400 lower for sale with only a few hours on it. Just was completely gone through and is 100%. They are bulletproof. It is 1:50 gear ratio. I have a 1" spacer for it as well.

I am ready to order some drives and for sure going SCX upper but thinking SC lower. Will SC lower hold up to 800HP? I know dual down shaft is option but expensive! SCX lowers are pretty good deal but have been told they will slow boat down considerably compared to SC. Any opinions....
