Bravo ujoints
Wondering if someone can explain bravo u joints. I have several x drives and had an assortment of spare ujoints. I thought that there were standard bravo and x ujoints. Now it looks like there are two styles of “ larger” ujoints which run from $120-$230 each. My newer style case drives seem to take smaller joints, which are more expensive than the older x style. Can anyone explain why they changed back to a smaller ujoint in the newer style drive and why they are so crazy expensive? I’ve searched the world and cannot find a ujoint that replaces the merc part. I would change them more often if it wasn’t a $500 deal each time.

So I looked at the spicer ujoint. It's close, but the caps are too small. I went to three shops and couldn't find anything that fits exactly. My Merc guy says he can get them $300 each. I found them online for $230. Seems out of hand for a ujoint. Does anyone know when and why they stopped using the very large joints on bravo 2s? I remember a few years when it was pretty tight getting the assembly through the boot.
