Mercruiser TRS drive electric shifting
Hey all. I have a Mercruiser TRS 330, and it has an electric shift motor/actuator. I'm pretty stumped on how what to replace it with, as I can't seem to find the original part anywhere, unless maybe used. But, I would rather replace it with something new. So, I was hoping someone on here would have an idea of what to do?! Thank you in advance for your responses!

No one out there has a clue on this one?! :(

You need to find one of these, you have a better change of finding the manual shifting brackets on a transmission someone is selling.https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/.../31588/988/290

That looks like the mechanical parts of what I have no?! I'm actually looking for the electric motor itself. I could totally be misunderstanding this entirely please feel free to correct me! Thanks! |

You don’t want to use the electric motor. When they start to fail the only engage partially and burn up the transmission. Throw it in the garbage and hunt down a manual shift kit. Like said previously your best change is to find a transmission with the manual shift on it.

Most likely the switch in motor actuator. Mercruiser sells a replacement kit retrofit the old shift motor. It's needs bit more work though as the design oscillates. Try using a small value resistance in series with the circuit.
a stepper motor with optical interrupts would be a modern solution. |
