New To Me IMCO and I Have NO Clue!!

Hello, I just purchased a 1998 Crownline 225BR that was built back around 2003 with a whipple charged 454 Mag MPI, and Brodix heads. Apparently it made around 780hp. I found a little on this site in the searches about the boat, I think. I believe it was built it Full Throttle Marine in Sweetwater Texas. It came to me with an IMCO Xtreme Advantage outdrive and a Stern Jack. It also has a hydraulic ram power steering setup. I have searched the IMCO site and it doesnt seem to match any of their current lineup. I would like to prepare for a rebuild but have no clue where to start. Can i upload pics directly to here? I have heard the cable for the Stern jack is no longer available. Can I get a custom shift cable made? Is there anything I should know about this stuff? New to boating, been dealing with race cars and motorcycles for nearly 30 years. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Once you reach 10 posts you can post pictures. Pictures will definitely help us with your questions. Sounds like it has hydraulic steering and an imco SC drive, which is basically a mercury bravo xr drive. I’m not sure what the stern Jack is you’re referring to. Where does this cable attach too? Are you having issues with some of the out drive parts?

A "Land & Sea Stern Jack?" that's an awesome piece that hasn't been made in a long time. Start posting. 7 more posts and we can see the pics!

I didn't build this boat or get it dyno tuned. Just going off what the seller said. He claims 789hp 80-90mph. It has Brodix heads, Stainless Marine exhaust, and an intercooled whipple that I can verify. While searching for whipple info I found a thread with a few post talking about my boat, I think.

Can't post a link yet Pleas search- blown 502 makes 1000 hp

Post #10 from bobl sounds a lot like my boat and I think is my boat. If anyone knows I would be happy to hear.

I am currently not having any issues with the drive. I have not even ran it. Just want to be ready when it does need some help. The shifter cable being out of production make me think to start looking. Is the Stern Jack truly a good thing or was it just a gimmick? Why no longer produced?

I will work on my post count and get some pics uploaded.

The Extreme Advantage SC is the early version of the current SC drive. It has a thicker case and XR internals

What color is the boat?

Bobl (owned Full Throttle zMarine) is still around here and thete here.Give him a PM. That’s his screen name here I believe.

The boat is a White with green stripe and gold graphics 1998 Crownline 225BR. I didn't know if bobl was still on or not, or if he would remember any details of a boat he built 17 ish years ago! I probably wouldn't. Thanks for the info on using Bravo XR parts, probably. Only a few more post and I will get some pics up.

I always thought they were cool. It adds set-back but more importantly it raises the prop higher as you trim up. There probably just wasn't enough demand for it. Maybe others here know more about the Stern Jack.
