SSM4 install?
Hello all,
motor guy here that has built cars for years, but pretty new to the rigging a boat. I just purchased a really clean 96 Scarab 38', straight hull, that I am installing blower motors and SSM4 drives. My question is about prop shaft height... how far below the surface of the hull should the prop driveshaft be set for this setup? I'm assuming others have done this similar setup and I'm always about learning from others wisdom and experience. totally seperate topics and question....should I pick up extension boxes this setup? I read and hear so many varying opinions on boxes. Mybstraight hull fountain had them, but if they arent worth enough mph...i wont mess with them. thanks for any help, I'll be posting this in the scarab forum as well. |
Dan @ Archer Maine might be of some help, I think he's restored some of those
