Imco SCX drive reservoir mount

I'm sure most have saw my thread on the AT pages of my upgrades to my 33 Evolution. Well just so happens that moving the shift quadrant to the transom, having backing plates for the swim platform, and other things there its only so much room you have to work with due to the design of the inside of the transom wall. Well the addition of SCX's require a larger drive reservoir that needs to be mounted there as well. I'm glad I have a engine builder who like to make things look really nice and has the patience when it comes to rigging. He spent almost an entire day measuring, cutting, tig welding and milling these mounts to mount the reservoir to the inner transom assembly plate. It will be powdercoated in candy blue to match all the other items in the engine compartment as well. Just thought I would share this if anyone else ever runs into this problem and thanks again to Eddie Young and Travis

Nice touch! Will you have room to get back there and add fluid? (need room above the res to tip a bottle)

Yes sir, but I'll just need a folded up foam yoga mat to lay on across the whipples to reach it..lol

Lol. Gotchya. Figured Eddie new what he was doing. Always a good idea imo when you don’t have to put more holes in the transom. My boats staggered and they’re still a bit of a trick to get to mounted just above the transom plates but I know how to do it now.

Less holes is way better and he didn't like the idea of mounting them on the transom with screws, because mine is all composite transom.

Looking good. Eddie is top notch!!!
He probably has already thought of it, but I would put some rubber/silicone bumpers on the transom side of the upper 2 bolts where the reservoir mounts to the plate https://www.mcmaster.com/dampers/unthreaded-bumpers-6/

Yes sir, he said he was going to use them on both the upper and lower mounting points of the reservoir.

Drill and tap the bottom for the level sensor.
Install a baffle at "full" mark. I used clear tubing on the stud to set the height of baffle(round plate 1/8" smaller than cylinder), and clear tubing on top to keep it there. If you don't use the baffle the alarm will go off.
Install a "riser" pipe on the oil line. Make it 1/4" above the bottom of the reservoir. This keeps debris that ends up in there, there.

Drive reservoir mounts powder coated, reservoirs mounted and installed on transom assembly plates.

I'm leaving the sensor off of these for now.

The SCX'S are connected up and she's ready for a shake down run as soon as we get a good day of at least 60 degrees or better. Took a few pics after Eddie and Travis got it all dialed in. I've been waiting patiently for a year and a half to see the water in it again. Just thought I'd share the pics.https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...001dcef090.jpg

Congrats! We’ll take all the pics whatever they are and love them! I think your going to be extremely happy with the new drive train. The whole package looks better than a new boat imo. Good things come to those who wait. Glad to hear you have chances of open water down there. Unless you can be dropped in 100yds out on Lake Michigan, there’s nothing but at least 1’ of ice around here! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Anyways I know I’m not the only one who has followed your threads with envy and hoping we can do the same some day. You took a really good boat and made it awesome. Time to reap the benefits

Thank you for the compliment! This boat fits our needs and keeps me from building onto my shop for something bigger is the main reasons for all of this. It was fast before and cant wait to see how she reponds to the added power soon. Anytime that you would like to visit Ky lake and Barkley lake just let me know and we'll have you a place to stay.
