Shifting issues in bravo 1
So I put the bravo 1 drive back in at first I thought I had the cable in the jaws but I didn't. I pulled the drive back off and then did put the cable in the jaws. But now I have no forward.
I never messed the with cables. Any thoughts do i need to adjust the cable now?.. Thanks David |
I had one of those pins strip out. I drilled it, tapped it, and used stainless thread. It's been holding to the (I think 50 ft lb spec) for at least 5 years now just fine.
I don't recall the size off top of my head, HeliCoil i think was the name of it.I got the very odd size drill bit off amazon for like $11 and the coil for maybe less than $20so, all fix was like $30, and I'm happy. I used red thread lock when threading in the helicoil, let it dry over night, and just bolted everything up normal next day. worked perfectly. |

I spent the money on the new bell housing. But thank you for the info. I have a new issue now shifting issue.
I can see where the cable ball is in the jaws but it's not shifting.. any help Thanks Dave |
Is it not going in gear while the engine is running?
If it isn’t running when you’re checking it, the forward gear might be on the high part of the eccentric ring ( where the shift fork cam contacts the ring) on the forward gear and the shift fork won’t let the cone completely go into the gear cup. If this is the case, bump the starter over and see if it goes into gear |
