Filling the drive with gear oil also fills the carrier bearing in the transom assembly?
The transom fill is for the input shaft housing only or is that for the drive? .. I`m so confused.

if its the older style the input shaft housing gets filled at the same time as the drive .
open vent on housing, wait till oil comes out , close vent , continue filling till oil in sight glass.

Yes it is supposed to fill both transom housing and drive from reservoir inside the boat... I had a situation where there was a ton of crap packed into the bearing carrier housing and it wouldn't allow oil into the drive from reservoir -- what a PIA --- had to pull everything apart to clean out...

To change oil feed from the bottom of drive with fill cap off reservoir until oil is at full line...you don't have to open vent on bearing housing -- it will vent through the reservoir.

Thats something to check for .. the crap inside ..

According to my manual you do have to vent the input shaft housing (second pic top of page warning) which is going to be a pain, my extension boxes have no access but I was told by Dan (Team archer) I only have to do it the first time when it`s empty but don`t have to bleed the air every time.
