Nxt drive hinge pin frozen
Working on replacing my bellows, went to pull the hinge pin out of the gimbal ring and the first one popped out no problem with a slide hammer, the second one however is not the same case..running out of ideas any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

A round plate welded to a tube that fits over the outer diameter of the tilt pin with at threaded rod or bolt to pull the pin out. The sketch I have included is crude, but I think you can follow it to make one.

That was my thought... When he referred to it as "crude", the only thing I could possibly come up with was the 7.5th tolerance around the 3/8 threaded rod (obviously joking here)
cad drawing was spot on to make or have made! |
I guess I shouldn't have said "crude", but it isn't to drawing standards, just something to get the job done.
A note that one pin will have a bonding cable attached on the inside. I usually trim up and remove it from the housing and leave it attached to the pin. Some just cut or break the cable, but good continuity bonding and anode protection is what reduces the corrosion between the dissimilar metals. Thanks for the good comments, hope it helps out. |
