Doug Nash Hydrosmooth 08LDI0 built 1990
Have 2x DNE2 Doug Nash Transmissions
Model: 08LDI0 https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...364098d51a.jpg Is there any info on these? TQ rating? Parts and gasket source? Thanks, Art |
Those transmissions weren’t around long An old post from a long way back mentioned that they closed up shop in the mid 90s. The post also mentioned reaching out to Huber Marine for possible information.
Huber Marine Best of luck! |
Huber Marine, used to be able to work on them. I put a pair in my 1984 Excalibur Hawk behind a pair of 625 HP Big Blocks.

Thank you, I'll reach out to Huber. BAM mentioned he had a couple at his shop as well.
There was a couple different tailstocks...some to fit into TRS or something? Def a Merc drive. Maybe SSM3. I'm hoping seals are commonly available, and I can make gaskets worst case. Thanks again, Art |
Mine used the tailstock off the Borg Warner C71 transmissions that I had in the Boat.

What model were/are the Doug Nash? How much tq were they rated for? I've seen other Hydrosmooth model #s... like 800 etc. Never anything like the model number I have. Original owner said they would handle 750hp. That may have been an extrapolated number from the max 800ft lbs, to his intended HP RPM. Something like that. Thanks again for a piece of the rare puzzle. |
