At just past neutral slips in and out of gear
Hi so new issue tonight. It's a bravo 1 /7.4l gen V mercruiser combo. When I just nudge past neutral coming in slow to dock the drive is sliping between N and Forward. Any adjustment I can do with the cables or something? Thanks

Just throwing out a random idea but do you have a shift interrupt on the bravo? I know it's only for alphas but I've seen others run on a bravo and could feel like it's slipping in / out of gear

I honestly don't know what that is. I have a shifter which is also the throttle and has a button on the side to disengage the shifting for throttle only during startup. ( carburetor). Since it was literally at the moment as I shift just into the minimum of forward gear possible that it was acting up. I assume the cables need readjusted. Cuz putting it clearly into neutral then further into throttle made no such in between deal occur.

I just ordered the cable adjust tool from mercruiser. So at this point any useful tips on how to adjust while the boat is at dock would be very welcome. For example I saw a video where the fella said once in gear ( engine off) hand rotate the prop to get the gears seated before touching the cables....

If you have the tool more power to you. I've never heard anything about spinning the prop to line up splines
Ive always used a ruler to set the cable then sent it. Never had any issues... yet. Needlenose and a small wrench is your friend but that's it |

sounds like they are talking about an Alpha |
