Help SCX or SCX 4

Hello, I have a 29' Cat with a single blown 565 BBC, it has 1048 hp. The old drive was demolished and only the lower may be salvageable. When I got the boat it had been run hard and I knew the drive wasn't able to handle the hp. This boat had issues planing but when she leveled out she was fast. My question is , which is better for a replacement drive, the SCX or SCX 4 ? I have 4 stainless props from the old drive I believe it was a Bravo something. They are 1 1/4 .
please weigh in on what drive would best fit my needs. I plan on cruising the boat with an occasional " let's see how fast it'll go. " it's been over 100 mph and a hell of a rush. Mostly river and lake runs but once in awhile a ocean run to Catalina.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

If you’re having problems getting on plane, the 4 will amplify or maybe be impossible to get on to plane due to it being much shorter.

I have a pair of SCX4 in the crate with about a couple hours on them only.

You will need to measure your current x dimension to properly answer that question.

I would try to find someone who is familiar with your exact hull and lean on them for advice.

Do you still have your SCX4?
