Let it drain overnight or for a couple days. Change the gear lube more often

Couple other comments that hopefully you find helpful
i usually pump the fluid in from the bottom so you don’t get air bubbles make sure you replace the little gasket around the drain plug. Even more importantly make sure the old one is removed so you don’t double up if you have an overflow bottle in the boat the fluid can get pretty gummy and not flow. The overflows should be removed every few years and cleaned out good luck grease prop splines when you put it back on |
Don't forget to open the drain plug up higher on gear case.

ok thank you

Depending on your drive, the drain plug is behind the prop, or on the side of the drive. The video shows everything. I like to let the entire drive and the reservoir in the engine compartment (if equipped). Then fill the drive from bottom up. When fluid comes out the top/vent hole; install the top vent plug. Then just a few pumps until you see fluid in the reservoir. Then STOP. Let everything settle, and balance out for at least 15 minutes. And then top off the reservoir. Done. |
