odysey or optima batteries ???
 

Trying to decide to replace one of my odysey batteries because im having problems with it not charging up enough to start one engine or to replace both of them with blue top optimas?

I have had much better luck with Deka batteries over Optima. I had great luck with an Optima Red Top n my suburban. I think there are better batteries for the $$ for marine use than the Optima. This is simply a personal opinion based on my experience.

i run kinetic hc 2400 going on 5 years on first pair , boaught another pair and are sitting in basement with intermittence hard chrge on them . they rock . i might add i run 4000 watts of jl power to them .and have not let me down

Unfortunately I have only had Optimas in my boats. There has to be something better!!!

Went through 3 set of optimas in old boat in only 2 years. Now running odyssey in the new boat. Kinetic are probably the best you can buy though.

Marine batteries never last all that long, the heavy duty Farm and Fleets serve me just fine. Don`t waste your $$ on Optimas , IMOP they are JUNK. Personal experience.

Never had a problem with the optima battery's in my apache. And its got crash boxes in it so more starting and stopping than a regular transmission boat. I have had great luck with them 6 years on the first set.

I went to SEMA the last few years. This past year I met with the guys at Optima. I told them it's about time they got their $#€€+ together. They guy looked at me sideways. I told them they had a few bad years, he laughed. He said yes, we "Optima" had a few years we tried saving cash. They were using inferior internals, but woke up and have things back on track.

I just re wired a limo last year. I used two new yellow tops. I had them both load tested to show what they were putting out. They were both rated at 850cca and tested at 975cca and 1025cca!

Don't get me wrong, Odessy makes a great product, but I still like Optimas.

Have had many Optima and they don't hold up

Do you guys leave your boat plugged in all winter ?

I have had so many Optima batteries go bad that I would never go back to them, even if they changed their ways... Deka's have been ok....I have interstate commercial batteries that I use for starting and they are ok at best...I have deep cycle Odyssey batteries (their 2250 model) and they are by far the best battery I have ever owned...Prob why they have a 4 year free replacement warranty which is unheard of in the battery world...Odyssey's are the best batteries in the world, which is prob why our military use them as well...because there not cheap!

Sears Platinum marine batteries are made by Odyssey. They have a 3 year replacement warranty. I bought 2 grp 31 batteries a few weeks ago when they were on sale.
