Speaker static

Replaced JL 300/4 amp with a 600/4 amp. Simple undo wires and reinstall on new amp. Now when I hit my drive trim switches the speakers crackle with static. Any thoughts on why or how to correct?
Thanks

I think id star by checking the ground. Maybe even run it directly to the battery if you havnt done so already

Check ground like stated above. Make sure power wires are clear of RCA and speaker wires, they can send rf through.

What short bus said...like 18" away from each other.

The new amp could be more susceptible to noise in the design. I see many companies cheapen out their stuff to save a buck. You may need a choke of some kind but check all of your wiring like the others said. That is the real way to fix it.

The fact that the amp pops during a voltage variation is due to improper isolation...ground straps are 99.9 % of the problem....Now there is a very small chance your getting a power spike in your remote amp on circut...look closely and see if there are any small wire threads lose near that power node.

Pull amp and head power at the same point.....same with ground

I've had the head unit powered thru the factory stereo wiring power leads. Tried running HU ground to my amps power junction blocks which are amp only dedicated power runs. All good now. The new amp is just a little more sensitive being new technology. thanks!

had a full JL system put in a customers TG used a 900/5. Incredible amp, I cant get over how crystal clear the separation is between sound and silence. Wish this clip could do it justice but its one of those things ya gotta hear in person. I made this clip cuz i wanted to get that song he uses to tune but then i remembered it just aint gonna sound like this in my circa 90's crap that came in my Scarab lol
