component vs 2way

Currently have clarion component in my 03 33 outlaw.. looking to replace with JL 6.5's .. any opinions on component vs 2 way?

Asked my JL dealer the same thing. He said components if you wanted a better sound stage, or coaxials if you wanted easier mounting.

I went with coaxials. I figure since I'm really after loud over SQ, to a point, that I'm not worried about recreating Mozart's Don Giovanni in the cockpit.

Polk components if they are going under a seat .slather the crossover and connectors in grey silicone .most jl and Polk crossovers give you a tweeter db option which is nice too

If you have components already, I'd replace with the same.

288sunny got any 10" JL subs?

I vote for coaxials no need for an extra hole unless it is already there the sound is the same unless you are mounting the tweeter far away.

your joking right??

The 8.8's are loud, sound great, and have a ton of bass, the 6.5's sound nice. If you can fit 8.8's that is what you should install.

Thanks...just wanted to make sure they were worth the extra pennies.....I'll put them in this week
