Is anyone using a JBL msp 1000 subwoofer
 

Thinking about putting a pair under the back bench and was wondering if anybody has tried them?

My buddy installed one in his boat 2 yrs ago. Seemed like a good idea at first by not needing a dedicated amp. He just wanted a nice sound for a budget. 1st one was a dud out of the box. 2nd one just sounded like a cheap sub. He returned it and went to a simple sub and amp. 10x better. Down side is the JBL needs a bigger than standard cutout hole. I had to make a trim ring to mount the new 10" sub.

I have one in my rib. I did not want to cut the big hole so I have it in a modified home depot bucket. Sound is ok but it lasted 3 years!
