I have JL audio stuff in my boat and it really sounds good. I have not played it in over a year due to the fact I bought this and it just blows everything else away. It runs on self contained power at 36 volts and has bluetooth. It is LOUD.. Not the Boom Boom loud but more like PA with good mid bass We take it to an local offshore island close to Clearwater Florida and it is crystal clear on the other side of the island...lol... Best of all you can play it WFO all day long and at the end of the day you will not have a dead boat battery.

If you are ever in Miami bring that thing with you, I'd like to see if you can even hear it next to my boat. :)

That might be cool to bring with us up to the blue hole in the Bahamas. can't get the boat up there

LOL Pstorti... This is not a my dick is bigger than your dick thread. Its actually comparing JL audio stuff to other similar priced stuff. Just showing you guys some out of the box thinking.. Actually this is in the box...lol... And Yes Poker Ace its 1500.00 or so depending on options. Its much louder than my 1500.00 JL setup. I love JL stuff. This is just something different. Personally I dont think 1500 is too bad for something this loud that will play for 30 hrs. I dont have anything to do with the company but I do know them. They bend over backwards to make it how you want it. The green paint is custom matched to my wife's Jeep. Thats the way she wanted it.

Actually, that BarnBaster unit has more in common with WetSounds than one might think.

Both are using horn technology to produce efficient, LOUD, well rounded sound.
Price is premium but it looks like they have significant thought and engineering that probably does produce big sound from a compact, well finished, turn key package.

A niche piece, they might even do well to approach WS for distribution. WS has really blossomed from just boats to UTV's and off-road vehicles. Could be an interesting addition for those venturing further off the trail???
That kind of price point gets me thinking how a single Rev10 with battery and amp in a sealed box might compare?

Or a Rev410....

I have wet sounds in one of my boats and Alpines in the other. What I have learned is that with all the noise associated with boats is that even the best speakers can not overcome their environment. If I had it to do over again I would get Alpines instead of ($?$) because they sound very good and the price point is much better.

Having 8 Wet Sounds 808's installed in my cockpit as we speak. I will let you guys know how it sounds.

IF 1" metal tweeters are not enough, step up to where the big boys play........

I have 4 of the Krypt HLCD 6.5 installed inboat. If they don't overcome the engine and wind noise, you should probably just enjoy listening to the wind and engine. (also good for drowning out neighboring boats, drunks and annoying screechy voices ;)
They should be installed with a baffle enclosure (either rigid or foam) to maximize the mid-bass and need about a 16oz can mounting depth. The sound is not pure highs due to the way it is crossed over. Similar to WS current Rev series instead of their original Pro for those that can make the comparison. They also withstand the longest, hardest days playing, unlike standard speakers that will eventually melt. I am putting 200w to each from Rockford's Power series amps.
The seller is all over the map on pricing however. I have purchased for as low as $175/pr to the $325 he has them currently yet $299 on ebay.

What exactly are you comparing the Alpine's to? Are you using the XS-65's, or XS-650's? How are they powered? I've sell both, and have all 4 of the speakers on my display powering by a Wet Sounds Syn2 - Alpine M600, Wet Sounds XS65i, XS650, and XS808. The Alpines sound a little bit better than the XS65i, but doesn't come close to touching the 650's.

If you think the Alpine sounds better, it's highly unlikely you have the 650's, and if you do, their not powered right.
