Anyone using garmin hand helds? Looking at maybe just the etrex line 20 or 30 to load maps on.. boat mainly on lake here at home, Mississippi River, and loto.. any other suggestions without spending over $300??

I have a handheld I keep as a spare or use when someone what's to get accurate numbers and they do t have a GPS.

I would say other than in an emergency, handheld GPS units are just too small to use for navigation. If you want a handheld GPS, load Navionics on your phone and use that. Otherwise pony up for at least a 7" plotter to permanently mount on the boat.

+1 on the navionics.. Or real cheap load MX mariner 6.99 Better yet load both on a samsung tablet

I'm looking for more accurate gps than my phone..
