6x9 to 8" adapter

Does anyone make one or do I have to make my own?

The 8 inch round grill won't cover the 6 x 9 hole. The screw holes are on the sides of the 6 x 9. Maybe have someone make something like a nice color accent bezel. I think that would look nice.

I made some trim rings out of 1/2" starboard and they worked out great

You can buy starboard at Home Depot now (at least you can down here)

Or, 1/4 sheets of lexan cut with jigsaw and cleaned up with table sander. Rattle can with your choice of bezel color and you cant tell where the speaker cover ends and the bezel begins.

Dan,
I was going to switch my 6x9's over to 8.8 JL Audios. The 8.8's would cover the hole, but 2 of the 6 mounting screws would be going through the old cut-out hole. I didn't see that as a problem though. Check out the specs on the JL 8.8's online, no plate needed, at least with my 6x9's.

Mine also until I removed one and the holes were not cut according to the template so I still needed the starboard.

Glad you got lucky, I didn't.
