RF remote for 19.99 for my pioneer and prob others!
 

Ok, so I was looking for a new radio with RF remote option, but then found that I am just an idiot and have been stung a couple time by the same gremlin!
I purchased a pioneer deck with BT when I bought boat.. 1 year and BT failed. So I found a receiver called MPOW that takes any input 3.5mm into a BT receiver ($20) I also use it in the jeep to play pandora.

ANYway.. I have had a couple batteries die that kept leading me to a bad deck. Long story short... Bad batteries... And you can't check grounds with your 3bank charger on. Buzzzzz

Ok... So through my various searches when I thought I was going to have buy a new deck, I only saw a few that had an RF remote. (RF = radio frequency vs infrared which is line of sight)

I could not find a pioneer RF remote or a universal.

I was at West marine and saw their RF Remote that reads just for their radio. For 19.99, I said, what the hell... Let's see if it works.

Well it works!! Good enough any. Obviously some of the buttons have different voltage, but I have 4 buttons that work!! Lol

Like I said.. Good enough, all I wanted was to be able to turn up the volume since I use Pandora on my phone anyway.

Vol + is now Vol -
<< is now Vol +
Power is now Mute
>> is >> and hold for a sec scan

Mute doesn't work but to sync remote, Vol - triggers a setting for clock adj..

Like I said, for 19.99, I got what I wanted..

Do you have amps or are you using that head unit for power?

I have 1 amp. 5 channel Memphis ( Baby Belle) under the sink. 2 sets of bazooka. 1 pair 6.5" up front, 1 pair 8" in back on sides and a 10" sub in the cuddy. I had a pair of 8" bazook marine speakers in another boat and it sounded awesome! Nice mid bass, so I stuck with them.
