Garmin 8000
 

on the Garmin 8000 series on the maps.
I dont seem to have any maps on my GPS units.


Do I need to buy a maps chip or am I missing something?

All Garmin units come loaded with all US Coastal charts. Some of the in-land lakes are not included. Not sure what your location is but there are chart cards available for in-land lakes.
You can source part numbers and coverage areas on their website.
