I do HVAC wiring so this wiring from shore cord connection goes to a bus terminal, also Earth and white nuetral have there own bus connector.
no breakers, just all hot when plugged in.
Battery charger, hot water heater, AC, cabin outlets
I purchased this boat missing main panel in galley.
After massive digging there where never breakers for 110 volt system. Only the 12 volt had breakers and stereo in main panel.
This is all original factory wiring, WTF
Anybody else see this in there boat.

Yep! my old 1986 scarab had some goofy wiring in there as well. from the shore power connection it went to a standard electrical box with an outlet..from there it went tot he main panel with only a breaker for the fridge...the battery charger was hard wired with no breaker or fuse.
Never used any of it so i didnt care...

When you are redoing it, it's a good idea to put in a galvanic isolator in as well.

I purchased a 110 volt panel with 6 circuits. 1 main 30 amp breaker. Wire it the correct way. Wow how unsafe it was set up from factory.

Kurt thats the safe way to do it, putting 110 vac in a boat without breakers is asking for a fire.

I used a Blue Sea panel for my boat. Make sure you use marine rated wire, it is designed for vibration and won't fatigue like romex.

The ideology is that the service breaker providing the juice to the shore cable would be sufficient to protect the circuit.... interesting defense when the marina burns to the water - then again find the culprit should something happen.

Wise choice on your own breaker panel....
