Sony XS-MP1611 6 ½” Dual Cone Marine Speakers Class Action Investigation
Hello! We are consumer protection lawyers who, from time to time, post on forums and raise awareness about a particular product that might affect a community of users, enthusiasts, etc.
We are currently investigating reports that the Sony XS-MP1611 6 ½” Dual Cone Marine Speakers are defective. Customers report that the speaker cones rot in less than two years because of poor weather and water resistance. Marketed as outdoor speakers capable of being mounted on boats or campers, this product is IPx5 water-resistant certified and UV and salt water resistant. Sony customers found, however, that the speakers deteriorated even when minimally-exposed to the elements.
