daytona sensors Coil mount
Hello All,
Tried searching for the answer but came up short. I am wondering how/ where others have mounted their Coils from Daytona sensors. I have the CD1 box on a mounting plate behind the Cyl Head. Just not sure where to put the coil. Any ideas or example would be appreciated. thx, Tom |
I made a vertical plate to mount the box, coil and capacitor

nice....thanks!

I then mounted this on the back of the head..... Local fabricator made me two of these for like 60 bucks....
|
Actually, thinking back on it, I bought the lower mounts on line that go on the head and had the local guy fab the 90* pieces I added to the top.

This is how our coil is mounted to our ignition box bracket |

the problem with mounting that ignition box vertically is that those little rubber isolators are not designed to support that much weight especially the pounding a boat takes.

I mounted my box on the transom so it wouldn't have to endure the engine vibration and put the coil on a plate that had my old MSD coil on the back of the even bank cylinder head. 3rd season and no issues.

I mounted my box and coil on the transom. This is where they will see less impact and jarring. Same place I mounted my ECU's now that I went with EFI.
