Eliminator Advice

Hey Eliminator friends, hope its Ok if an old Nordic owner asks you guys some questions! No, I dont want to get into that Nordic VS. Eliminator. I'm SURE BOTH companies have their good and bad points! Any way. Would a single engine application w/ whipple ( it would be in the 1000 hp or so range) with Imco or Teague Plat. drive etc. be enough for say a 30 Daytona or Eagle. Is it just too much boat, or too much load on a single? I dont have that sweet twin rigging money! Do you guys recommend a cat or a V, never driven a cat period. I hear there is a big difference. I'd like to be in the 90'S to be able to cruise at 70 all day. Is this too much to ask? All feed back from you guys is appreciated!

A 30 Daytona is too much boat for a single. Hell, any 30 footer with a full beam is too big for a single IMHO. my 25 daytona with 570hp will run 90 and cruise at 70 all day. His 30 is huge compared to my 25.

Re: Eliminator Advice

I have seen alot of boats over the last few years... I have never seen a 30 Daytona with a Single Drive, always twins... However, I have see a few 30 Eagles with single drive.

In my opinion, this scenario is entirely way to broad. It all depends on the driver. If the driver wanted to run the boat hard, seeking performance I would not recommend a big motor with a single drive. However, If you would like a cruiser, or a more laid back approach... I would go with a single drive.

It all depends on what you want to do.

:D

THEY HAVE BUILT SEVERAL 28 LPs LOW PROFILE WITH SINGLES AND THEY ARE AWESOME, IVE RIDDEN IN A 28LP WITH AGT 900 AND IT RAN 106 MPH GETS ON PLANE GOOD ALSO A 30 EAGLE IS OK WITH A SINGLE BUT FOR THE MONEY YOU COULD DO A PAIR OF 496 HO MAGS AND RUN HIGH 70s WITH NO DRIVE ISSUES WITH A SINGLE BLOWER MOTOR.

FYI I've got a 28 eagle with a 800 hp blower motor and tabs, 81mph on my best day in glass. Per the shop guys at Eliminator, 525 twins are the eagles friend. 525s in an XP Eagle will put you in the mid 90s.
