cleaning canopys.

What do you use to clean the canopys of the daytonas?

Re: cleaning canopys.

I'll chime in here with a good guess.

I assume plastic. Get a plastic windshield cleaner, can buy at motorcycle shops. Will remove any fine scratches.

Most important-never paper towels. Always use a nice soft cloth. Anything paper will eventually scratch your canopy.

Re: cleaning canopys.

thanks. I didn't even think about a motorcycle shop.

Re: cleaning canopys.

I just use either Invisible Glass, glass cleaner or 210 Plastic Polish.

They both work great, and since it is an 02, they look as good today as they did when new.

Downtown42 is correct, I have a friend that used paper towels on his, and we spent many hours polishing the scratches out.

Bill,
Novus has a product called Clean and Shine. Since my windshield is brand new, do you still recommend the 123 system or is that more for scratched plastic?

This stuff sold at auto stores or do you order online? I have some glue on there from the shrink wrap and I want to keep the plastic like new. Thanks, Dan

Dan we used Goo Gone for the glue from shrink wrap when our Elim was shrinked & shipped from Cali and then use the Novus step 1 to fine shine and make her sparkle:drink:

Thanks,
I used Goo Gone on on the boat but was chicken to put it on the windshield. Thought the chemicals might turn it yellow.

Just out of curiousity, why not use Windex? I use Plexus on all my helmets and motorcycles anyway, but I never knew or even thought about windex having negative effects.

Thanks

eliminatethis 06-30-2011 11:25 AM

PLEXUS only thing I will use.

merctwofive 07-06-2011 10:35 AM

I haven't found the Plexus, but 210 does a great job on mine
