Daytona 25 with Ilmor 625
I have the opportunity to pick up a 25 ICC open bow and rig it with a V10 625 for a very attractive price. For full hydraulic steering I would use my Bravo Shop ( BMax) Transom Assembly. I also have a Bravo X drive with Max Machine Works top cap, and IMCO 2" lower with Max Machine Works internals.
The BMax Transom Assembly adds about 150 lbs, but the Ilmor (all aluminum) is about 200 lbs lighter than a Merc 525. Is there room enough for this set up in a 25 Daytona? Will the weight shift be a problem in fore and aft center of gravity? Is this too much hp for this boat? It has the largest beam that I can fit in my lift. For use on a larger inland lake. Thank you for your comments. |

No where near TOO MUCH power. Theres lots of 25's out there with huge power in them. Teague ran one with 1350 hp in it to 144mph a few years back. I think it would be a real sweet package.

REAR SEAT HAS TO BE MOVED FORWARD, IT WILL BE TIGHT, MANY 25s WITH #3,4 AND 6s, WITH NO BALANCE OR CG PROBLOMS.

YA! I talked to BOB T. in person about this event. He said, that the two passes he made with that boat was the best rush he has ever experienced! :D Airpacker... you made my day bring this up. Good job. |
