the ride on a 28 daytona

Guys i sold a 28 nordic and im buying a 2006 28 daytona. Will the 28 ride smooth or the same as the 28 nordic? Im a big guy with a bad back but i love the looks and speed of the 28 daytona tall deck.
If i also want to go 100mph i was told the 496's would be fine but after reading from this web site it sounds like there is no way

Lastly do you think the upgrade from 496's to 525's is worth the big money. I cant justify the 40k more for the 525's. Its the only way i will get 100mph and still have a warranty

The 28 TD will ride better than an equivelant sized V bottom. Rides more like a 32 V on inland lakes. You're realistically looking at low mid 90's with 496 power, 525's should put you around 105. With 500EFI's they run 102. This is with normal loads and fuel, on fumes in the best conditions with nothing in the boat you might get 2mph more with each of the above set-ups.

ditto to all above.

28 without a windshild will be a couple of mph faster than one with.

Once I added the windsheild I lost around 2 mph..... But the passengers like it a lot more.

I will promise 100mph on my 28 daytona with 496ho's and xr's. we have seen as much as 104mph! It is cheeper to insure! It comes with 5 years of warranty!

High 90's are a lay-up with those motors IMO. Could probably get into the low 100's without to much hassle.

100+ with 496's is real! Look at the new powerboat. It has a 28 with 525's at 120mph.The newer daytona's 05 and up seem to be running faster then the older 28's. They just changed the setup. We are doing a 625 ilmor boat that will top 130mph.
