Re: spinning out a 28 daytona
I've spun mine at low speed on purpose (30 mph) but going faster would be pretty dangerous. At low speed it just spins to a stop kind of fun actually. It is pretty obvious when the boat is starting to rotate, you just back off the steering a little and continue with your turn. The boat is very forgiving and easy to drive. With the trim up you can slide the back end through a turn kind of like a flat bottom boat, if you trim down or neutral the boat can turn harder but it wants to rotate as you go through. I love the way the boat handles, its my first cat and I was pretty surpirised at how hard it will corner.

Price is important. I don't want to give the farm for a 28 foot.

Re: spinning out a 28 daytona
I think Dustin Whipple is selling his 28 with the quad rotor hemi's. The ride in that one seems to be pretty stable. I don't know what he's asking either.
As far as the spinning out goes, alot of guys get the x-dimension way up there and then if one of the sponsons starts to dig in and the scag is too short, it's loopy time. BTDT :( not fun, killed a laptop and a wide band AFR meter along with almost breaking my leg. Ummmm, you're not suppose to try and turn at 90 and be off the throttle  That turned into an expensive tune for the owner :p |
