Re: Looking at buying 30 ft eagle
I have a 30 Eagle. 800HP-3.3 Whipple. Teague Platinum XR. Best speed to date at Havasu is 92mph. The boat handles very well. Tabs??? Nice at speed as Cat said.

Re: Looking at buying 30 ft eagle
I own a 28 Daytona cat and love it, but if I went back to a V the 30 Eagle would be my next choice. I would definitely go with twins in a boat that big, easier on drives and also you have an extra engine in case of trouble.
I would think 496 HO's in a 30 Eagle would give very respectable speeds. 85+ mph |
Re: Looking at buying 30 ft eagle
I have a 28ft eagle with a whippled 800 Hp motor... 90? well
28ft eagle single engine power fine... 30ft eagle single engine ??? Probably like buying a Camaro with a V-6. 30ft eagle needs twin 496's, 525's, or better... |

Re: Looking at buying 30 ft eagle
I have never ridden in one, but I have seen them in operation, and they look impressive with only 496 HO's, They are a good bargain I know the E. dealer had one loaded up with the above power that they had advertised for 132. I had a 25 Eagle and loved it. Eliminator gets its credit for the cats, but the Eagles are very impressive with great performance and a true custom machine. It did plane very easily and took off as fast as anything from the card stop. I would have thought that it had more than stockers.
There was a 30 Eagle that rolled and sunk going around a hair pin turn fast at the Lake Cumberland poker run. I have no first hand info. what so ever, but I understand that it may have been operator error. |
