I own a 28 Daytona cat and love it, but if I went back to a V the 30 Eagle would be my next choice. I would definitely go with twins in a boat that big, easier on drives and also you have an extra engine in case of trouble.

I would think 496 HO's in a 30 Eagle would give very respectable speeds. 85+ mph

I have a 28ft eagle with a whippled 800 Hp motor... 90? well

28ft eagle single engine power fine...

30ft eagle single engine ???

Probably like buying a Camaro with a V-6.

30ft eagle needs twin 496's, 525's, or better...

Factory told me:
The speed of the boat with 496 HOs will be 75 - 80 mph. However, with 500 EFIs 80-85 mph.

Re: Looking at buying 30 ft eagle

I have never ridden in one, but I have seen them in operation, and they look impressive with only 496 HO's, They are a good bargain I know the E. dealer had one loaded up with the above power that they had advertised for 132. I had a 25 Eagle and loved it. Eliminator gets its credit for the cats, but the Eagles are very impressive with great performance and a true custom machine. It did plane very easily and took off as fast as anything from the card stop. I would have thought that it had more than stockers.
There was a 30 Eagle that rolled and sunk going around a hair pin turn fast at the Lake Cumberland poker run. I have no first hand info. what so ever, but I understand that it may have been operator error.

Back when this thread was started the OP probably could've had a new eagle built with 496s for close to 110.
