33 Daytona

a friend of mine is getting ready to purchase a 33 Daytona listed here in the classifieds link to ad

anybody know the history on the boat? he has a pair of 900's and #6's he wants to put on it. since i am not really familiar with that hull i thought i would try and get some owners input from you guys to help my friend. will this be a good package to install in this boat, can it handle the weight and balance? he is a competant performance rigger/boater and has plenty of seat time above 100. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks all

actually my thoughts for power are in the 600/700hp range and some type of bravo drive ( Imco extreme, B Max. . .???) but he does have the big power and 6's on hand already.

Re: 33 Daytona

Some the 33s before 2001 have a porpoise problem. I know of a 2001 that has 6's and big blower motors that runs 140+. It is very solid.

Don't know about the boat for sale.

I know of a gentleman with a 1997 (I believe). Porpoise trouble. He spent in excess of 10 grand to straighten the issues. Operates perfect now.

That boat was in powerboat a while back I believe. I think it had Pfaff blower motors. Ran 130+mph.

i have heard about porpoise issues on early hulls, this boat has a tunnel tab to help correct the problem. apparently this boat is the first 33 that Eliminator built. how does the boat handle the weight of the 6's and trannys

I believe I saw an add on this boat where the motors were still in the boat. I think it had #6's and big blower motors. Looks like he will be putting back in what was taken out. This has been for sale for a while. I'd have him call eliminator as they have been more than happy to talk to me about things such as this.

I spoke to him... He lives on the West Coast and sold the boat about 8 months ago... The gentleman that fixed it is several years out of business.

Best of luck...
