Here's my 28 tall deck...might be for sale soon also...:D
Great all around boat, lots of cockpit room, no porpose anywhere...runs very good through rough lake chop, the wifey wants a 33 though....:violent-smiley-045:

Boat is very solid and fast. Motors dynoed at 780hp. It handles the washboard wakes of the Lake of the Ozarks well. It will not take a 4ft+ crusier wake at high speeds very well, but the 3ft chop does not bother me at all. Your not that far from me if your near Tablerock. I will be down at the ozarks again for the OSS race the 28th through the 30th of this month and then again at the Harbor Hop down there the weekend of October 13th. Let me know if you want a ride.

The 28 that Jdnca1 has is a very nice boat, I wouldn 't hesitate to look at. Now about a ride in your new 33!!!

here is my 01. It has 496 mag ho's, I have since added a windsheild but don't have any pictures of it here with me right now. Mine is 4-sale as well. Been a great boat with no problems and runs high 80 all day and sometimes see low 90's

Does the tall deck have a different hull than the ICC ?

I dont think so.....just more weight from the different deck.

QWKRN U 09-19-2007 08:32 PM

I think the hull is slightly different on the older ones, more wieght and different X dimension than the newer ICC's.

MikaylaHunterCig 09-20-2007 02:02 PM

OK- The reason i ask is by the numbers reported it seems theres a -10 mph difference in top speed ?
Is this right ?

My 06 496 28 ICC will run over 100mph anyday
Just curious

I'm pretty sure Eliminator changed the bottoms very slighlty on the ICC's. A lot of how any of them run is how they are set-up...I do believe the new hulls are slightly faster though...IE, a few mph...

What props and drives are you using?

rbtnt 09-20-2007 10:00 PM

I thought the steps were smaller on the new ones and they seem to be about 10 mph faster.

tblrklakemo 09-20-2007 10:02 PM

maybe shueman can chime in and clear this up

QWKRN U 09-20-2007 10:08 PM

X-Dimension and weight plays a huge difference in the speed differences.
A 1999 tall deck 28 took roughly 500hp per side to run 100.
A 2005 ICC took roughly 425hp per side to do it.

Looks about right...I talked to Tony and a 28' ICC is 15-20mph faster, with the same power setup. The Tall Deck performs much better in rough water though...

jeff1000man 09-21-2007 10:42 PM

What is the beam on these boats? Will they fit in a 9' wide boat slip?

Only if ya ram em in there really fast lol.

The beam is 108"

pstorti 09-22-2007 12:40 PM

The main reason for the speed difference in newer vs. older boats is X-Dimension. As far as I know the bottom is identical on all 28's tall decks, low profile, and ICC. the difference is the deck mold only. Oh and you want to see some pics mine is in the classifieds.

The 28 ICC has the 28 Lp bottom under it. The 28 standard deck was a little slower then the 28 Lp bottom with twins. That is why Bob went with the 28 Lp bottom under the 28 ICC. Although we just built a new 28 tall deck and sold it to a customer in SC and with only 700Hp a side it ran 134MPh. The X- dimension is higher now then it was years ago, that helps alot. Hey Dave you get any hits on your 28 ICC? If not I think I have a customer for it. I will give you a buzz later. Preston

How is the head room in the facing louges? I cannot sit straight up on my cabin lounges. A couple more inches would help.

IDRPSTF 10-02-2007 10:10 PM

.....

rbtnt 10-02-2007 10:12 PM

Can not sit up, like you said, just needs a few more inches.

My front seats are 3" higher than normal. I ordered it from the factory that way so my line of sight is just above the windshield and the air coming over hits my forehead.

New 2008 28 Daytona delevered to customer.

tblrklakemo 12-10-2007 11:29 AM

I would love to do it.....but i need some useable cabin area. Place for kid to nap, watch DVD, or have a small fan blowing. I just dont think i can hack it with those needs and extra space for putting all my crap too.
