your slip

I am wonder if anyone knows the slip ratios on their Eliminator.
I have a 30' an it seems to have about 12 to 13 percent slip at wot.

T.S. = Engine RPM / Gear Ratio * Prop Size / 1056
Example:
T.S. = (5500 RPM / 1.36) x (34"/1056) = 130.2 MPH

Thats what mine is as well.
13%
1.36 drives 30 pitch prop 5200 rpms 94.5 mph

according to this anyway.

not sure how accurate it is.

My 28 w/ 32p @ 105mph , 5100 rpm is about 8%
We try (Heringpropellers.com) to set up most cats at 8% or less. However there are many factors involved when setting this formula up but in any case 12% is not bad but can be improved a bit.

MikaylaHunterCig are you running a 5 blade to get lower slip
I run 34 4 blade mercs 1:25 @ 5800. I am a bit worried about going to a 5 blade and breaking drives all the time. As of now i have been fortunate to have only broken 1 in the last 100hrs.

my 26 is about 14

Hope to improve on that ,STILL working out bugs. Hope to be able to use it this year:angry-smiley-038:

B BOATER 08-04-2008 05:13 PM

40 pitch 8% slip @137mph
38 pitch 7% slip @131mph
Merc 5 blade CNC's NXT drives.
Also once the boat hits about 110 we start to trim down and watch the needle grow. Roosters tails are sort of a sort of a sign of slip once you achieve max lift and speed trim in and your slip drops. I think alot of us over trim. It was hard to believe it until we tried it then the gps started climbing. We Still through a huge rooster until 100 or so then flattens off.

Nope - lab 4 blade but on your application a set of hering 5-blades could make a few MPH diffrence.
My boat has 2x 496 mag HO motors with a high x and imco short drives. - i do plan to play with some props in the near future so we'll see what it can actually do .
