changing plugs on 27 with twins

what is the trick to get to the outboard plugs with twin big blocks?
I've been hanging upside down in the bilge for hours.
I think a 2" ratchet extension may be the trick but I can't get the socket on the extension with 2 fingers.

Thanks for any tips

I remember vividly. I layed stomach down on the top of the motor and reached around the exhaust manifolds. I used a universal joint on the ratchet. I have long arms and did it by feel and with a mirror. It took several weeks for the bruises to go away.
