Scot Conrad purchased Spectre and moved the operation to the west coast a few years ago. He has been searching for the optimum location to build a contender to match the top of the line cats (Skater, MTI, DW, Etc) and take Spectre to the next level. With Scots years of racing experience and vast knowledge in the performance boating world it seemed like a no-brainer. However, with his other ventures (he also owns Hering Props and SC Performance Marine) it seemed as if Spectre fell to the side lines for a while. The 42 was in the works for a long time and I believe Scot planned on returning to the offshore racing arena with this boat (a race set up of course). Sounds like the marriage with Eliminator could be a great opportunity for both companies. I assume the "partnership" consists of Eliminator building the boats using Spectre molds. It will be awesome to watch this boat running OFFSHORE out of Scot's home base of Huntington Beach or in Havasu. Scot's about 6'3" and that is him standing next to the hull in pic two. with that much tunnel, I don't think some rough water will be a problem! Can't wait to see the final product. Looks like an open cockpit boat. If it races offshore, what org. and what class would it race in?
