1988 27 Daytona Outboard 300xs's
 

This one is in the classifieds. It was built by Young's performance this winter and is now for sale. Anybody know how it runs. How fast, does it get on plane easy and what props.

There was a boat that looked very much like this on S&F awhile back. It had 2.5's.

This looks like the same boat.

If you do a search over there you might be able to find a long post on all the things guys have done with that model.

I have always wondered how that boat would do with that setup. The current owner is in pretty deep with that new power. Those 300's run great though.

Naw No twin for my boat. Just checking on performance. It was actually traded in on a 42 fountain at the factory dealer. They claim 88 mph tops. I guess the guy who built it wasn't happy with the performance. I was checking on my setup. I can hit 89 mph gps in cold water. But $49,000 is a pretty good deal with those new motors. But it is an old boat. I really enjoy mine as a fast family boat. Same boat with 2004 300x's. My son whose 22 is starting to take it out a lot, and while 89mph was a little slow for me, now that he's taking it out, I am happier that it can't go any faster. Could use larger gas capacity.

what kind of water can this old 27 handle? i know they are MUCH bigger than the new ones...
