Help me choose
Time to make a decision between 2 boats.
2003 26 Daytona 500 EFI procharged 109mph...shorty, xr drive -- The guy is asking high $60's, but I can probably get the boat in the $50's. or 1989 27 Daytona twin 383 small blocks w/ whipples 95mph...imco everything and looks almost brand new -- Can buy it for no more than $30k I've always had a soft spot for the older hulls and the price point is very attractive, but maybe the newer boat is the smarter decision. Opinions please :ernaehrung004: |
I would take the newer boat anyday. But will really makes the newer boat look best is 1 engine. Why deal with 2 of everything when you can have 1 and get the job done. Just think about it. I would take 1 big block anyday over any 2 small block boat. I am comparing this to 30 foot and under boats.
Twice the fuel 16 spark plugs 12 to 16 quarts of oil and twice the bird nest of wires you have to go threw to trace a problem. |
I would JUMP on the 26 icc with the 500efi. MUCH nicer boat.

i agree the newer boat is appealing, but there is just something about twins and all that nice hardware hanging off the back

Buy The 26icc You Will Be Happy With That Choice.

I would spend the extra money and get the 26icc, if the 2 boat were parked next to each other I think I know wich one you would choose. The twin supercharged small blocks from the 80s sounds like a time bomb. I used to have an 86 scarab with newer 502mpis before I bought my smaller newer eliminator it was a maintnence whore. I will never buy an old boat ever agian.

Do those boats basically have the same 26'10" hull or is that the later 27 and 26s that share the same hull?
BTW, I would get the 2003 for sure...... |
