Eliminator Regatta
 

I just posted some information on the big board. My wife gave me the green light this weekend (considering its Mothers Day weekend). So I have been calling around trying to register today.

Who all is going to be there? Cat&Mice, your boats already out here. Elimi, going to make the journey? Cattitude, if you were willing to pull the jeep out here, why not that 95mph hot boat? STONE, kick Dr. Semper in the butt and have yours done by then - your a local! Turbojack, why next year?

Not this year, daughter has project prom that weekend & my wife is president of the event. She has been working on this for the last 3 years. So, guess who wins, Turbojack to reqatta or Project Prom.

U.T., Catitude, and all others that we've talked to. (No one excluded) We'd like to put a face with the names that we've seen on the board. We are driving out from Virginia and would like to talk to some folks when we get there that have posted or replied to us. This is the 1st regatta that we've been to, have heard great stories and lots of fun. Are getting really stoked about this trip, only 5 weeks away. Dewinterizing boat this weekend and making adjustments.

Could someone tell me the altitude of Lake Havasu so we can make the proper adjustments.

Am putting 2" shorty on 25' single-step daytona. Will post results once tested.

Hi guys, Just too much going on right now- two jeep competitions in April, Tina will not be in favor of a Havasu run when the dust still has not settled.

I wonder if I could get any takers if we did an Unoffical regatta at say Grand lake in NE Oklahoma, it's a big lake with all the hotels, clubs etc?

Cattitude – There’s an outside chance in late July, early August. Put us down as possible. Do you know any web sites on the location to entice us?

Sign me up for this trip. I wlll drag along friend (non computer person) that has 28' daytona also.

I go along with UT times. Any rv parks for Motor Homes? If not, I think I could stay in hotel.

Most everything is on the southern 1/2 of the lake. I think I'll start a separate thread after I make a few calls.

Catitude, do I smell "road trip"? We might be pursuaded for a little detour. Perhaps a few good sites for my family to see and lots of pictures for the takin'.

How far off I-40 are we talking? We will be coming back during the week after the regatta. Are there hotels and such along the way? Maybe we can spend a day on the water.

S.A.M.- We are about 60 miles North of I40, you take 540 north (Prev route 71), the Juction is just east of Ft Smith, AR.

Plenty of Hotels (Wal-mart land), just none "on" the water. There some of "cabin" type places- nice ones, just mom & pop style that are on the water with Ramps and slips etc.

Not a lot of tourism here except for the lake. Branson is about 2hrs NE of here if you like Country- huge tourism area.

I believe I would like to come.....have been trying to break in the news to the wife a little at a time.....she says the 2400 mi tow is to much for us old people :) ....but hopes are pretty high.

U.T.- You're a thoughtful man! I'm really doubting I can pull it off as I'm committed to things the next 3 of 4 weekends and now the little guy has a cub scout deal for Mother's day weekend. Maybe next yr-

I try to to give balanced quality time as that is what Tina likes more so than the 4C's- maybe I should count my blessings. :D Somehow I elected not to point that thread out to her- don't want to sway her one way or the other!

I have been in contact with Eliminator's Dallas/ Ft Worth office and I'm trying to get them to kick in and organize something at Texoma or Grand. If they let it slip we'll do an unofficial one in late July or early August.

If any one wants to apply pressure for a midwest regatta call Slade or Mike @ (817) 246-4284 and tell them that you and x amount of your buddies will show!:D

OK...just to let all know...We are not going to the regatta. After some researching and hearing from a few aquaintances from the west side of the counrty...We are putting off until Sept for the Poker Run.

Elimi & Enticer - Bummer! I was getting all excited. Oh well, I can certainly understand, that would be a hell of a road trip. Can't say I would be able to trailer that far myself. We will continue to work on learning our digital camera so we can post a bunch of pictures for you. Took it to the lake last weekend, but never used it. Some kind of learning disability I guess.:confused:

Sec Agent Man - So far, your the man. Keep me posted on when and where you are arriving so I can keep my tour-guide hat available;) Considering your relatively new, how about posting some pictures for us.

Speaking of pictures, I posted a couple on the readers ride section of the Galleries. If you guys haven't checked that section out yet, you should. It's cool:cool: Saw Elimi's big-bad engine there.

U.T. is that a 30 footer? What a great ride you have. I only wish mine looked that good. Maybe some day with a little TLC mine will grow up to be like that. HAHA

Am trying to scan pictures, will let you know as soon as I post them. Or, if you'd like I could post my 103 mph V-bottom until the daytona makes the big time.

How's the weather out there? Our weather here has just broke, hopefully it will be high 60 - low 70 from now on. Am looking forward to Havasu heat. Perhaps if you want to PM me, we could chat offline about the Havasu particulars.

Hi S.A.M. and all- my lake is flooded, was even on CNN last night, third time they opened the flood gates on the Dam in 40 yrs. I can skip rocks off my deck now!

Mr. UPS brought a slighly used lab 30 to me today- when all the floating debris settles out I'll try to eek out a few more digits.

I bought this prop from a shop with a claimed Merc lab job- it's been labbed for sure but the prop is shiny, I thought merc always provided a satin finish when they labbed a prop- am I all wet?:confused:

Catitude, it's good and bad about the water. But all bad will get better in time.

Your pics are working fine, nice trailer too. How much room have you got between the fenders and hull??

Secret Agent Man – Thanks for posting the pictures, looks great! Mine is the 26’ Daytona and thanks for the compliment. We are pretty proud of how our first boat turned out. My wife thinks I’m sick because I keep talking about how I can make the next one even better. Oh well :D :D

Weather at the lake has been in the 90’s and the water temp is rising fast. I even jumped in last weekend - and jumped out quickly too. I’m guessing by the time you get here the water will be at least mid 70’s or higher. There are two months that are typically the very best at Havasu, May and October. Temps and weather are always nice, summer months can get beastly hot, especially if your not use to it. Bob Leach is no fool, he picked the perfect time of the year - you’re going to love it.:cool: :cool: :cool:

I have been talking to the guy at Jokers Wild who is putting the Regatta together for Eliminator. He sent me the schedule of events for another Regatta he is doing and told me Eliminators will be similar. I just need to figure out how to post it.:confused:

Catitude, why did you have to bring back those bad memories about that damn trailer. We went to pick up the boat and they had it on the "wrong" trailer. New trailer looks much better. 6-8 inches between fender and boat. Catch a glimpse on the other picture of me and my kids and you will see the difference, much better.

Enticer, thanks for the offer of cash for the hatch actuator, "But Officer", if you would like to place a donation in the offering plate, we would be much abliged. :cool: At the time of picture, there was no motor, no power.

:( :( UT, the heat is on...temperatures in the high 90's. Am working my butt off accommodating everyone else with air condition problems.

Haven't had time to work on boat, work comes first, dammit 2-inch shortie isn't here either, not helping, stress level HIGH. Guess I'll have to run old reliable for Havasu. Can't wait for the trip, why don't you pm me a message and we can exchange phone numbers to discuss trip. Will check back ASAP when I get a break from the heat.

Hello to everyone, and how are things going? Work has slowed up a little for me and tonight I had a chance to toy with the engine. I will post good pictures of motor once I have it cleaned up.

SAM - I don't know of any noise restrictions and I have heard many boats that are very loud. Would be hard to believe at lake Havasu.

We are waiting from word from the good doctor that the donor lungs have arrived. I am hoping to trailer the boat to him at the end of this weekends poker run (Sunday). We shall see.
