Looking for Eliminator info

I currently have an HTM sr24 and Im looking to move up in size to something used that handles Lake Erie Better. I would like to be in the 28-33ft size. If the HTM were bigger and rode better I would have no reason to look at another boat. Absoultly love the ammenities and user friendly aspects of an HTM. I need a decent size cockpit and It must have an area to change out of wet clothes and have a useable portapotti. I have been looking at 31 American Offshore, and 31 Awesome Cats but the cockpits and cabins especially on the Awesome rule them out. Need some feedback on the 28-33 Eliminators. Not really crazy about the ICC but it looks like Im stuck with that on a newer not new model.

The ICC will give you a bit more head room on the seats in the cabin. I don't use the seats in the cabin much and have considered removing on of them to have a bit more storage. As you move up to a larger boat you will more than likely be cruising faster so the canopy will help with the wind. The only caution is not all canopies on Eliminators were created equal. So my advise is look closely before you buy for blind spots when looking through them. If they need to be replaced budget in about 3500 to 4000 for both. I have the silver 30' in the classified, I have enjoyed this boat and one other 30 ICC they are great boats. Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me anything about the ride of the 30 Eliminator compaired to to other manufactures in its size range and how it compairs to the 28s ride?

I have not been in a ICC 28' Eliminator but I have been in a 28' Tall deck. The ride is similar but you can feel that the 30 takes that rough water just a bit better. The big difference to me would be with or without canopies. I would not but a boat that was capable of 90+ (assuming a minimum power of 496's) without wind protection. All of that being said if I was in the market for a boat as you described, I would look at:

Eliminator Daytona
28 ICC
30
33 ICC

DCB
29
32

Needing a cabin eliminates some of my other choices but I do like the 32' Spectra but no cabin, and there are some deals on 32' Skater's which are great rough water boat's from what I hear.

So all of this comes back to how much you are willing to spend. Get the longest, newest boat, with the best options that you can afford. If speed is a factor for you it has been my experience that it is cheaper to buy a boat that already reaches or very close to my desired speed for that boat. Making a boat faster (more than 5mph) is expensive and you don't get that back.
Hope that helps
