1990 daytona 27 question

I am looking at buying a 1990 eliminator daytona 27ft, with 2x 454. Is this a pretty decent boat as a first cat or should I hold out? He is asking 20k.
Any information anyone has please let me know.

Thanks

Yes. it is a fairly decent boat. I have ridden in both an I/O version as well as a tripple outboard version. The I/O was definately more "planted" while the O/B version was fast and a little squirely feeling.

Good quality of construction, decent ride in sloppy water.

I owned a 27 Daytona as my 1st cat. A very heavy and nice riding boat but truely looked faster than it was. That boat should run around 80 mph on GPS. I would look for a single engine 25 to 26 ft., much easier to maintain and cheaper to operate. Good luck. Doug

I agree...the 27' isn't really a "twin" boat...unless it's OB's...the '90 is the older bottom as well...
