Having owned a 29 Fountain before and having driven a 30 Eagle, I would take the Eliminator hands down any day of the week, especially if the Fountain is a single.

did you have twin engine fountain or single? was the 30 eagle fairly roomy inside

My Fountain had a single 525SC. The boat was a dog getting on plane and a bit of a slug in mid-range. The 30 Eagle seemd to have more room in the cockpit and was just more comfortable to me. The 30 Eagle I was on had twin HP500's and performed a lot better than my Fountain did.
