Fuel leak 06 25 daytona

Anyone here ever have a fuel cell leak/break. Is the fuel pump
in the sponson? Eliminator's telling me I have to cut the floor of the boat out to get the fuel tank out. Any help would be great.

Fuel tanks should be on the sides. What engine? The fuel pump is mounted to the engine on stock Mercury engines. The tanks are aluminum, it is hard for me to believe they leak. Maybe the fuel line fittings are leaking or the fuel fill hose or breather. Pull the side panels for a look. If a tank is leaking it can be cut loose. Where are you located?

Im in Vegas, Theres a speaker thats mounted at the floor on the starboard side of the boat, if you were sitting in the back seat your left foot would be right next to it. Well the magnet on the speaker seems to have wore a small pin hole in my aluminum tank. I JB welded that pin hole filled her back up with fuel pulled the boat from vegas to havasu seemed fine when i got there no leaks. Put in the water cruised around for 3 or 4 hrs. next morning I looking at my fuel gauge for that tank says 1/4 no way i went threw that much fuel. Pulled my plug on that sponson and 20 gal of fuel poures out. pulled the speaker couldnt tell if it was leaking from there or not with that much fuel in the sponson everything had fuel on it. I was sick to my stomach could have blown myself up. So Im not sure what to look for next. Ill pull the panel in the engine hatch off and check my filler and breather hoses. Any way Eliminator in Ca says they have to cut alot of fiber glass to get that tank out. Thats the last thing i wanna do but we will see.
O yea motors a 496ho. Any tips?

I can see how that could happen with a low mounted speaker. I am thinking strip the panel on that side of the boat to access the fuel tank. disconnect the fuel line from the tank. fill the tank to the top with water and have it TIG welded or heliarced if a little fiberglass needs to be ground away, it will not hurt anything. Drain the water from the tank, reconnect the fuel line and fill her up with gas. I think a bonus is, IMCO has a Nevada office. They are the ones that build the tanks. I am sure if they could not do it on the spot, they would know someone that can. http://www.imcomarine.com/
I live around the oil field and we do this all the time with big vessle tanks etc.
